EVGA presents a gaming PC with two RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards

The concept of a gaming PC with two Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti GPUs might sound absurd, but EVGA just made it a reality. The arrangement was shared by renowned extreme overclocker and EVGA team member Vince Lucido, and it uses two power supplies connected to four 16-pin PCIe Gen 5 power connectors, as discovered by Wccftech.

Lucido’s ridiculous custom GPU configuration is beautifully impractical, and that makes the supposed RTX 4090 power range of 850W reasonable. However, the overclocking enthusiast is likely planning to break some world records, as the Galax RTX 3090 HOF currently holds the clock speed crown with performance reaching 3 GHz (via Videocardz). Ongoing component shortages mean it’s hard to get hold of a GPU, let alone a pair of high-end custom cards. Still, it’ll be cool to see how far Lucido can push the RTX 3090 Ti, even if it doesn’t translate into a practical way to boost fps.

The configuration in question uses two EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin GPUs, one of the best graphics cards on the market in terms of specs. As you might expect, this testbed-style rig is power hungry, as the card’s 1200W TDP means the configuration could pull a whopping 2400W.

The effort may set a new bar in the extreme overclocking scene, but rumor has it that even the RTX 4060 could match the ray tracing performance of the RTX 3090 Ti. Therefore, we probably won’t have to wait too long before we see an even more outrageous overclocking setup that uses next-gen Nvidia technology.
