Getting solid gaming pieces is always a pain, but this pre-built desktop PC from HP makes it a little easier. The manufacturer’s online store is selling an all-AMD gaming desktop with a Radeon RX 5500 for $550. That’s $100 off the sticker price, $50 better than the sale price we saw in October, and a great overall starting price for an entry-level gaming rig. .
With this desktop, you can expect solid 1080p gaming. The AMD Radeon RX 5000, which is an OEM part only, is built on AMD’s RDNA architecture with Radeon Display and Media Engines and supports Radeon Image Sharpening.
The CPU is the Zen 3-based Ryzen 3 5300G APU, which has four cores, eight threads and a 4.2GHz boost. Storage is a bit light at 256GB, as is RAM at 8GB, but you can upgrade them for an additional $140.
HP has launched a free keyboard and mouse, although we wouldn’t expect them to be much more than fixable. You’ll also need to provide your own screen, but that’s standard for desktop computers. All in all, you get great value for money with this solid starter gaming machine.
